October has been a busy month at the fishery with two competitions being held. We also have had the worst floods in the area in living memory, but thankfully the fish stayed in the pools!!. R.N.L.I Wick held their competition on the 8/10/2006. Graham Robertson, Wick, emerged the winner from a total of 27 anglers, for the third year in succession. the event raised nearly £300.
The Harpsdale Open was held on the 29/10/2006. A total of 22 anglers took part with the following result:

| This month was very mild with some very busy days at the fishery. Highlights being J. Sinclair, Lossiemouth, catching 21 fish in a four hour session. Tagged fish was caught by Kevin Beales, Wick, netting him £100. |

| This month the weather has been very wet and cold. Highlight of the month was R. Cormack, Wick, landing 12 fish in a four hour session. A. Budge, Wick, went home with £100 after catching the tagged fish. |

Hot, dry conditions continued for the first three weeks of the month. The last week was cooler which made much better catches being recorded. Highlight of the month was Liam Sutherland, Wick, catching the tag fish (£100) and on the same day, his mother Katrina landing a 12lb 8oz rainbow. |

This month had glorious sunshine which made fishing conditions difficult. Best catch was W. Clarke, Crewe, who had nine fish in a four hour session. |

Most of may was very cold, making fishing very difficult. most anglers got their limit and best catch was E Hutchinson, Kirkwall, who caught 8 fish in a two hour session. A Scolhay, Kirkwall and B Ally, Kirkwall, both landed twelve fish in a four hour session. |

This month has been very wet and cool, the fish were lying deep and lures were most successful. the highlight of the month was Eddie Bremner, Thurso, landing the tag fish. Best catch this month was J Sinclair, Lossiemouth, catching 15 fish in a 4 hour session. |

The winter weather returned with a vengeance, with the snow and frost closing us for two weeks, however, good catches were recorded at the end of the month with John Blake of Thurso netting eight fish in a two hour session and B.Munro of wick landing a tagged fish netting himself £100. |

This month, the first week the fishery was frozen over, later it became milder with some excellent catches with E Bremner of Thurso and A Porteous both catching eleven fish in two hours. Another highlight was Glynn Reid catching a tagged fish. |

This month the weather was very favourable with some nice fish being caught. |
