The fishery was iced over from the 6th of December and remained frozen for the rest of the month, Best catch was from A Budge, Wick who had four fish in a two hour session.

The mixed weather conditions has not been favourable this month with fish lying deep. Sinking lines and lures have been best this month. A Budge from Wick and J Christie both had five in two hour sessions

This has been a busy month with some good catches and small flies getting best results. October also held the annual RNLI competition (see report). J Christie from Wick had eight fish and I Hutchin from Orkeney had six in two hour sessions.

The disappointing weather continues and with it the fishing improves with some nice catches being recorded.

With the Indian summer over it was back to normal with wind, rain and few hot days, this did not however spoil the fishing as catches improved in cooler conditions.

This month we had some beautifull weather with very high temperatures which at times made fishing difficult.
P Clarke from Crewe had twelve fish on a four hour permit, all on dry flies. |

May has been a good month, remaining dry and bright with higher temperatures. There has been quite a few tourists at the fishery and M Hay from Fife landed a £100 tagged fish.
D Mackay Thurso had thirteen fish and J Mackay Thrumster had eleven, both in two hour sessions. |

April was a dry month with rather cool winds, despite this there were very few blanks and some nice catches. John Briscombe from Thrumster had eight fish and Ray Kennedy from Orkney had seven in a two hour session.

Very wet at the beginning of the month but the fishery picked up in the last fortnight with some lovely days and good catches.
Buzzers and cats whiskers were doing best this month.
Toby Bracey returned five fish and Patrick Ingram returned nine, both on a two hour permit.

The fishery was frozen for the first 18 days of February. After the thaw the weather remained very cold with a few anglers braving the elements and managing to have some good catches.
