On Saturday 16th April many local anglers contested the invitation only competition, Trout Masters 2005. Conditions were cool and blustery with a strong easterly wind making conditions testing. 

J Blake and D Young got off to a great start sharing the lead up to the final 10 minutes.  A late run of catches from Tony Chalmers looked like securing victory, however, the experience from Championship angler Alan Porteous showed as he caught a fish in the final minute to secure victory from Tony. As Champion, Alan qualifies for the Grand Troutmasters final at Grafham Water on Monday 16th May 2005.  As local Champion, Alan also wins £100 as sponsorship from Harpsdale Fishery towards his trip to the Grand Finals.

Note - Points system is based on weight of first two fish caught plus points for each further fish caught and returned- value of points being dependant on fish variety.
