John Blake - 2004 Winter Sheild winner
|
On Sunday the 18th April 23 anglers contested the Winter Open Shield. Unfortunately the weather conditions were far from ideal, but this did not prevent a very good and exciting days fishing. At the end of the mornings three half hour sessions it could not have been closer with nine anglers having caught and weighed in their two counting fish and Neil Henderson had caught and released one. The afternoons two sessions were fished in equally as bad conditions but never the less by the end of the last session five anglers were within one fish of lifting the shield. On any other day Neil Henderson would have taken the honours but this was not to be his day with him losing a total of five fish including a tagged fish so unfortunately for Neil he had to settle for second place behind John Blake who completed his hat trick of victories with a respectable haul of five fish. In third place was Stewart Duffy who was 2oz behind Neil. |
